Reproduction and life span: Roof rats sexually mature in two to five months. Females produce 4 to 6

Habits: Rats are nocturnal. Outdoors Roof rats prefer nesting in trees, occasionally in burrows and
vegetation. In buildings, they prefer to nest the upper levels of the buildings, occasionally, in basements
